The current observation plan will enable objects to be observed with a certain cadence, as this could provide, for example, additional statistical information on the number of stars that are in binary systems detectable by radial velocity variability, and many other objects of intrinsically variable nature. However, integrating cadence in the high multiplex of 4MOST increases the complexity of observations even further, therefore any community proposal with specific cadence requirements would have to be compatible with the overall 4MOST strategy.
